Yes! The "Surrender" marketing was great.

Bono also posted just the right amount of promotional text online (which can be a tough call for writers, because you want to put up enough text to whet readers' appetites but not so much that they think they don't need to buy the book). And he included music (a snippet from a Ramones' song that influenced him).

There's probably a good article to be written about the marketing of big books by rock or pop stars, such as Morrissey, Springsteen, Bono and Dolly Parton (who wrote a book with James Patterson and promoted it with him). Maybe you could write that if it hasn't been done?
