Yes, it can take much more time than people imagine for those students' essays!

I've never reviewed for authors--they earn so little as it is, I couldn't bear to charge them--but I'm fine with taking money from major media with cash to spare. The problem is that many of those media are cash-strapped now, too, and their rates haven't kept up with the times. It's a brutal world for freelancers today.
