Yes! I think I had the Beatles rejection by Decca in my file.

In the case of U.S. book publishing, the rejections are made by editors (not business people). But a vast number have been based on editors' misguided sense of the market, so they might as well have been made by the bean counters. And more and more, the editors meet with the business side before making a decision, so the problem goes on.
