Worse, my experience is that when they do factor it, your following has to be huge to matter. A few thousand followers on X or Instagram won't cut it.

Thanks for pointing me to the Vox article, which I hadn't seen. I'll take a look at it and see if it says anything I hadn't known before I write another story like my early piece on the topic: Does social media really help you sell books?
