What happened to Gary Younge could happen in Alabama and, alas, in many parts of the U.S. The "driving while black" issue is very real. Let's face it: Even "jogging while black" led to the death of Ahmaud Arbery.
Some people argue that "driving while black" stops are much more likely to happen in rural areas, and they could be right. But take the Aberry case: That happened in a well-off Southern *suburb.* So I'm just not sure whether this is a "rural" issue. I'd like to see some good stats on the issue.
