But I wonder if YouTube isn't almost as much of a factor as TikTok in the problem you describe. I recently read an article by a British Gen-Z writer who said the top three sources for news for her generation are, in order, TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram.

I'd love to read an article on the influence of YouTube v. TikTok on reading books, especially if you could get some good stats or other authoritative info (e.g., from booksellers) on that. My sense is that YouTube may be underestimated vis-a-vis TikTok because (to my knowledge) YouTube doesn't have a hashag that's taken off as #BookTok has.
