This is great, Lisa. I've been thinking of writing about the same thing but focusing on regional variations instead of age differences.

You're more likely to hear "You're welcome" in the Deep South, where I live, than in New Jersey, were I was raised, because Southerners tend to have more formal manners instilled in them. And in Australia, it's "No worries," which is also catching on in the U.S.
