They're graded on my part of the Gulf Coast, too, and for the same reason: poor water quality. But results are typically called a rating instead of a grade or grading.

One problem is that the water isn't graded daily but on a schedule that might be, for example, weekly. That means that you can still swim in bacteria-infested water between inspectors' visits.
