These are such great questions! I'd never really thought about them.

But Nazi Wives make clear that "Uncle Adolf" did show an unusual interest in children, which the author reads as his need for an extended family but someone else might see as latent or repressed pedophilia.

The idea that Eva was a prostitute doesn't strike me as absurd, either, not when brothels abounded in that era and there was one on the grounds of Hitler's summer place. I'd love to know more about either the pedophilia or "beard" idea. Thanks nudging my thoughts down a couple of new paths :).
