There's a slight pandemic rebound, but print books overall are doing better at this point than a lot of people expected.

When e-books first became popular, the doomsayers were predicting or at least fearing that they'd kill bound books. But print is holding its own. You see part of the evidence in the resurgence of independent bookstores.

A lot people predicted that they'd die, too (most recently, when pandemic lockdowns closed them). Some, in fact, did die. But new ones have taken their place and, overall, their numbers are growing.
