The Thatcher years inspired a lot of satirical books, articles, and other media. I was a book critic when she left office, and I remember U.S. critics wringing their hands and saying: What will happen to British satire now that writers don't have Thatcher to skewer? They clearly underestimated the potential of British politics to keep feeding satirists new material :).
