The Snowman is wonderful! It would easily make my list of the "5 Best Wordless Picture Books of All Time," and I might not argue hard with anyone who ranked it No. 1. Not all British books travel well across the Pond, but The Snowman has been popular and highly regarded (by critics, librarians, etc.) here for decades. I've read that wordless picture books are great for kids with learning disabilities, who love them because they can engage fully with the story without worrying about getting the words right. The Snowman is well worth mentioning in any holiday roundup (which I'm sure I've done at some point in one of my articles that's now so deeply paywalled I can't access it).
