The issue the government is leaving out of all of its guidelines is *face shields.* I know of a top infectious disease doctor, at a Harvard-affiliated hospital, who advises patients traveling on planes to wear two masks PLUS a face shield. That's what I plan to do in June when I have take multiple planes and other forms of public transportation to attend an overseas wedding.
There may or may not be evidence to support wearing face shields on planes. What's frustrating is that the CDC and other authorities aren't telling us what they know: They treat face shields as though they didn't exist and ignore them. How can we trust agencies with such an ostrich-like approach?
