That was a great tip on the Thursday Murder Club. I'll look into it. This topic interests me in part because older men have had a place in mysteries for a long time: A cliche of the genre is that of the detective who comes out of retirement to take one last case he can't refuse.

But I've seen few, if any, older female sleuths doing something similar, and I've wondered: Where are the women? That question drew me to the Elderly Lady series, and Thursday Murder Club seems to have its own interesting answers.
