It sounded like from your post as though there was some sort of secret cabal plotting the future of Medium. And I read it within hours after reading that some people recently got invitations to be Friends of Medium and others didn't.

Together they made it seem that, in different ways, people were getting tapped to be among the elect and others weren't. From my perspective the jury is still out on the decentralized decision-making, but you've been on the platform for longer than I have, and I appreciate the perspective.
