Thanks so much for pointing that out. If I'd written this for a U.S. publication, I'd have said, "What We Get Wrong ..."

I named Americans in the title because so many members of Medium are from other countries that have fewer or at least different racial problems than we do here. And I didn't want to implicate people from outside the U.S. in views they may not hold (when, in fact, many are truly shocked by some of the prejudices they see here). I appreciate your giving me an opening to say this.
