I suspected that cultural differences could affect how effectively teachers could use mindfulness. But I didn't go into because many Americans are unfamiliar even with so how it's being used in schools here and I needed to explain that, and I appreciate your examples.
Interestingly, your two minutes of helping students calm the "monkey mind" resembles something that used to happen in American schools before the U.S. Supreme Court outlawed prayer in them. The schools had a few minutes of prayer or, say, reading a psalm at the start of the day. The discipline problems in schools were fewer then, and I can see the benefits of your approach.
