Thanks for bringing up children, Linda. Not wanting yours to stumble on something you wrote online, before they're ready, can be a valid reason for using a pen name on certain types of stories.

But in my experience, book reviews aren't among them. That's partly why all of the traditional media I've written for forbid anonymous ones: The risks are too great for virtually no benefit to the publication.
