Thanks, David. Did you see that the Canadian poet Anne Carson ranks high (top 5 or so) on some of lists of frontrunners for the winner of the Nobel in literature to be announced tomorrow?

In my view Carson would have a very hard time beating heavy favorite Rushdie for many reasons: He's worthy, he's overdue, and the apparent Nobel distribution reqs would probably make a Nobel for Carson too soon after those for North Americans Alice Munro and Louise Gluck. I'm unfamiliar with her work so if you have thoughts, please let me know (or if you could make a case for her, just leave a comment on her candidacy on a post of mine that just went up on Everything Shortform about another contender who ranks up there with Carson on some oddsmakers' lists, Cormac McCarthy).
