Thanks, Chris. You are so right that you can find very liberal people in Alabama, at least.

In 2017 I was co-chair of a grassroots group called Writers & Artists for Doug Jones, part of the successful effort to elect the first Democrat the U.S. Senate in two decades. I organized a benefit for his campaign, and it was thrilling to see so many people (who normally kept their party affiliation under wraps) come out to support him.

As a nation we need to allow more people to express their views as freely as they did then. The U.S. has grown way too intolerant of such differences.
