Susie -- This was fascinating. I've been a staff editor for several major U.S. publications and written for many others. I had vastly different results at Illumination: no changes, no requests for revision, and no apparent use of Grammarly. But I still found your piece extremely useful. It confirms what I've seen at non-Medium pubs: Your editor largely determines what kind of experience you have (along with the accountants who process the payments). Thanks for writing it. Jan
