Robbins is a little off-the-wall for me. A highly entertaining NYTBR review of one of his books once said, and this is a close paraphrase: Robbins is one of those authors who are best read when you are 19 and on drugs.

Wodehouse, by contrast, works every time for me: His comic timing is always pitch perfect. No drugs needed to appreciate him :).
