What I was going to add was: Publishers might do better (and certainly a lot of the non-James Pattersons of the world) would do better if publishers distributed the risk more by spreading the advances around more among writers at different levels.

Thanks so much for bringing up that point about the risk aversion everywhere (which the pandemic certainly hasn't helped).
