One thing that may have helped in Cleveland is that it's historically been a city with a strong labor presence. A lot of my co-workers had parents or grandparents who'd belonged to unions, so they understood the benefits.
The people who may especially need support are those trying to organize in places where there's never been a strong union presence and where there's a lot of confusion about or even hostility to unions. So the organizers are out there on their own.
