Once I was in the U.K. when it was having what the health authorities defined as "heat wave" (i.e., a normal day in March in Alabama). Because of this putative crisis, the NHS was handing out free sunblock to all takers in places like parks (I think Hyde Park was one). It was amusing to Americans and even to some people in Scotland, where I staying.
