On "Rearrange the sequence of events" and similar changes: I'd add: If you're writing a nonfiction book in which you've done this, *tell readers up front what kinds of changes you've made.* You'll risk losing your readers' trust if they suspect you of taking too many liberties with facts. That's why so many memoirs or other nonfiction books today have a note at the beginning that says something like: "I've changed names and identifying details, rearranged the sequence of events, created composite characters, etc." If you're lucky enough to find a publisher for your book, critics will be on red alert for things that don't ring true. And you can often avoid their wrath simply by being honest about what you're done.
