Oh, boy. Now I bet you'll notice whether or not African American or a similar term is hyphenated everywhere you see it.

I just looked up "hyphen" in the AP Stylebook and saw that it calls those terms "dual heritage," NOT "dual identity" as I said in my early comment, so this is a battle I can't seem to win!
