I loved this comment! Thanks so much for speaking for all the people who disliked the second-person narration. It absolutely isn't to everyone's taste.

By coincidence I've just been reading (for a book group) some Gabriel Garcia-Marquez stories in the magical-realist vein--and while JM and G G-M are vastly different writers--some people have a similar reaction to his writing. No! No! No! Please just tell me a story straight up!

I'd bet McInerney's talk was very entertaining, though :).
