My view: Anyone who's edited a newspaper, as you have, knows how to write a great headline. So if you think some of your stories should have had a different response, you need to look elsewhere.

I once made a half-hearted attempt to use a headline analyzer and the results were so overheated (and untrue to the story) that I didn't try again. But at times I find it helpful to look at the headlines on stories Medium is promoting (e.g., the Staff Picks) and see if I can learn from them.
