My question exactly: You think like a journalist. You have to wonder where the idea and money for the series came from.

I'm keeping my thoughts to myself--in one of those charitable acts I should be able to deduct on my federal tax return--but we are probably thinking along the same lines. This puffy (so far) series is awfully flattering to a country that's been depicted by so many negative images from the border.
