Much appreciate your sharing your experiences at the county level. It seems to dovetail neatly with what the focus groups and polls are showing: Younger black voters are not as easy to deliver for Democrats as the generation closer to the civil rights struggle.

It's fascinating how many men over 60 are saying in these comments something similar to what you have: Like the women of their generation, they are getting more liberal, sometimes in response to the hijacking of the GOP by conspiracy theorists and others on the ultra-right. I'd love to see a good story on this trend, because in my experience the shift in women has been getting much more attention than the shift in men.
