Much appreciate your bringing up TV, Philip, because everything I've said here applies also to TV adaptations of books, plays, or anything else. For some reason I didn't think to mention the TV versions of the work of American novelists like King or all the adaptations of classics on PBS and elsewhere.

I'd probably benefit from a subscription to one of those services like BritBox or Acorn. But I supposedly get more than 500 channels just on my basic cable. And I keeping asking myself: Does anybody really NEED the 800+ I could get if I subscribed to some streaming services?
