Me, too. In this case the problem is system-wide at the cable networks, so I suspect the problem comes not from individual journalists but from top executives, who could stop phrases like "Take a listen" with a quick email.

Every newspaper or magazine I've worked for had a style sheet or style book that dealt with small issues like "Take a listen," and they are so easy to fix IF somebody high enough up cares about them. Which, unfortunately, nobody seems to do at CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News.
