Thanks so much for bringing attention to a such a worthy writer. "Happening" is far from ideal as a translation of "L'evenement" (which would have made clearer what the film is "about"). But given how politicized its subject is, I can see why the filmmakers used the word--and if it leads more people to Ernaux, so much the better.
