Lateness isn't usually a problem in the polite American South, where people tend to show up on time for everything from movies to church (unlike the New York area, where it's understood that if you don't arrive at least 15 minutes late for a dinner party, you'll find the host washing the salad greens). But your rants are such a refreshing antidote to so much of the blandness on this platform! Thanks.
