Just an observation based on nearly a year here: Sometimes writing for a publication with highly engaged readers can make a difference.

Another publication like New Writers Welcome that has those engaged readers is the shortform pub the Daily Cuppa, which has wonderful editors in @KatieMichaelson and her team. You know how to "write short" and how to write about food, a topic that (among others) does well on the Daily Cuppa. So you might ask Katie & Co. to add you. I think you'd like them and they'd like you. Part of the appeal of the Daily Cuppa is that it doesn't allow the relentless self-promotion that you see on other pubs, so it's refreshing, too.
