I've heard so many good things about Louise Penny's mysteries. But unfortunately I've read only her State of Terror, written with Hillary Clinton. which critics seem to agree wasn't her best (and which I reviewed on Medium).

Thanks so much for reminding me that I need to look beyond one book (which I made a mental note to do that I haven't followed up on).
