It would be great if you could do either book or album covers because--at least with books--they have vast importance but get so little attention. If you did one a week, you could write shortform. And I suspect @EricPierce at FanFare and @KevinAlexander and @NoahFenster at the Riff would be open to that: Each of my Pop Culture Shorts columns on FanFare has just 150 words excluding the title and credits, and I've done a couple of shorter items for the Riff.

This would be a great season for starting that kind of feature because in books, a couple of groups give "year's best book covers" awards, and I suspect there's something similar for album covers. You could riff on the winners. (The most famous book cover designer in recent years has been Chip Kidd, if you're interested in current cover fashions.)
