It truly is an honor not just to be recommended by Sendak but to have had him want to work with you for eight books. And I agree that it's sad how little children read today.

In a way, given the current climate, it's almost a miracle that authors as good as Krauss are still in print and appreciated. Sendak helped to paved the way for a new appreciation of the reality that the best children's books aren't just good reading--they're works of art.
