In my talk I mentioned Britain along with Denmark as an example of a Western democracy going in a bad

direction on free speech. "Not great" is a tactful way of putting what's happening.

The recent criminalization of "slow walking" in Britain is awful and unworthy of a nation with such strong democratic traditions. That law is so new it seems not yet to have been challenged by the Supreme Court in Britain (as it would surely be in the U.S.). But I hope the fight against it will continue.
