I'm hoping to add a note. Here is the issue: Many, many novelists use in their books lines they've often said in real life. That is, they put their favorite lines in their books. (I'm one of many novelists who's used some of my favorite lines in books and also said them on TV.) In other words, because it's in a book, doesn't mean he didn't say it first in real life. So I'm trying to pursue this one a little further to figure out what exactly what was going on there. Thanks for following up.
