I'd like to see an article on this. I live in the Deep South, where you regularly hear a lot of country and blue grass on radio and TV.

Blue grass always seems more upbeat to me than country. Is that an accurate impression? If so, why? Is it just all the fast banjo playing as opposed to the often maudlin slow tunes of country?

I'm an incomer from Springsteen country, so I'd be interested in the perspective of a lifelong resident of the region or fan of the genres.
