I'd actually love to see how the French would measure almost any kind of writing, My guess is that their "grading system" would be tougher than any in the U.S., at least under the traditional French educational system.

But I've read that the classic French educational model is becoming less rigorous. If true, that would be a shame in my view because the French rigor had its advantages.
