I haven't read this one but I admired Laing's essay collection, "Funny Weather." She's one of today's most interesting cultural critics and covers a wide range of topics: books, art, politics, and more.

After I read "Funny Weather," I read in an interview that Laing defines herself as nonbinary. Whether or not she deals with that in "Everybody," anyone who's looking specifically for nonbinary authors might want to look into her work.
