I have a similar reaction when I look at some recent children's picture books that use CGI. There's no comparison between their art and what you see in books by the greatest illustrators of just a couple of decades ago, like Maurice Sendak, and today's best living artists who do their own drawings, such as Chris Van Allsburg. I really hope CGI doesn't drive them all out.
