Hardy and Lawrence are great, too. But if you want to read Hemingway's stories, "Hills Like White Elephants" has only a few pages (maybe three or four). "The Snows of Kilimanjaro" is very long (30 pp.?). Some critics would say, too long, though it relates more directly to writers' lives.
