H. H. Munro (pen name "Saki") is such a good writer, too often overlooked today. I co-lead a classic-short-stories group for journalists and authors that read one of his, and members liked it a lot.

I haven't read his birds story, but it sounds like one that would have fresh relevance not just for Ukraine but Gaza and other war zones. Thanks a million for calling it to my attention. I'll keep an eye out for it.
