Fascinating. This is one of the few stories I've read on Medium that will make me look more closely at some paintings. The lead is especially interesting because on crowded NYC sidewalks, what tends to jump out at you is how many people are reading texts or email on phones, often in alarming ways (e.g., while crossing a street against the light). It can be unnerving enough to upstage other things in my field of vision, which I'll pay more attention to now.
