"Beyond disturbing" is how I see it, too. Perhaps what surprised me most is how much of the trafficking isn't for sex, awful as that it is.

A lot of it involves con artists taking advantage of poor people so desperate for work, they'll go to another country. And when they get there, they're trapped if they've had to give up their passports.
