And Then There Were None was one of my early favorites, too. It's such a good example of what she does best: a story of a crime committed within a closed circle of people, any one of who could be guilty.

I haven't read Burroughs, but from what I know of him from fans, he's another example of one of those transitional writers who can be your gateway drug from children's to adult fiction. Thanks!
